University Policies
Official university policy categories organized for readability, transparency, and easy navigation.
Conflict of Interest
Each member of the university community is responsible for acting in an ethical and professional manner. This responsibility includes avoiding conflict of interest, conducting instruction in an ethical manner, and protecting the rights of all individuals. Faculty, administration, students, and staff should conduct themselves with the greatest professional objectivity.
Academic Integrity
Academic integrity is of central importance in the university community and involves committed allegiance to the values, principles, and code of behavior held to be central in that community. The core of a university's integrity is scholastic honesty. Academic dishonesty is a serious offense that can diminish scholarship, the academic environment, institutional reputation, and the quality of a World Bulgyo University degree.
- For faculty: plagiarism and falsifying university documents are breaches of academic integrity.
- For students: plagiarism, cheating during exams, unauthorized study aids, and falsifying university documents are violations of policy.
- Students aware of academic dishonesty are encouraged to report the instance to the instructor, test administrator, school dean, department chairperson, program director, or appropriate administrator.
Student Records
Student records are confidential and are maintained and released in accordance with applicable law. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 generally prohibits release of information about students and former students without their consent and assures students the right of access to, challenge of, and review of educational records.
Educational records include records, files, documents, and other materials that contain information directly related to a student and are maintained by the University or by a person acting for the University. The Office of Admissions and Records is the university records custodian.
Equal Opportunity / Non-Discrimination Policy
University programs are administered in compliance with applicable civil rights, disability, rehabilitation, and education laws. No individual will be excluded from participation in, denied benefits of, subjected to discrimination under, or denied employment in connection with university programs because of race, color, age, disability, citizenship, handicap, political affiliation, or other protected status.
Sexual Harassment Policy
Sexual harassment is a violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It is WBU policy that employees and students have a right to work and study in an environment free from sexual harassment in any form.
- Unwelcomed physical or verbal contact
- Sexually explicit language or gestures
- Uninvited or unwanted sexual advances
- An offensive overall environment, including vulgar language, explicit materials, or sexual stories or jokes
Policy on Sexual Assault
The term sexual assault includes, but is not limited to, rape, acquaintance rape, sexual battery, forced sodomy, forced oral copulation, rape by a foreign object, or threat of sexual assault. Rape, including acquaintance rape, or any other form of sexual assault, will not be tolerated by World Bulgyo University. Where evidence of campus-related sexual assault exists, severe campus disciplinary action may be initiated after due process.
Academic Regulations
Academic regulations cover general admission procedure, application acknowledgment, classification of students, admission requirements, registration procedures, academic load policy, grading system and transcripts, transfer credit, adding or dropping courses, attendance requirements, standards of academic progress, probation, disqualification, leave of absence, graduation requirements, dissertation, grievance procedure, catalog changes, and related university rights and responsibilities.
Change or Cancellation of Class
Should enrollments drop unusually low in any class, the university may cancel that class and advise remaining students to relocate to another available class. In the unforeseen cancellation of a class session, the university may reschedule the class on a weekday or Saturday, giving the maximum amount of prior notice possible.
Teacher / Student Ratio
An instructor is present for all classes, and all efforts are made to keep student-to-teacher ratios low. WBU also offers evening classes for student convenience. Morning classes are offered as requested and available for degree completion.
Student Housing
World Bulgyo University is a nonresidential university and does not provide on-campus or off-campus student housing. Local housing is available in the vicinity of the university, and private housing agencies, area newspapers, local newspapers, and free publications may provide information about housing options.
Health Clearance
Students must be in good health and free of communicable diseases. A Report of Health Examination form or medical examination report by a physician must be submitted prior to admission. The examination should certify immunization against polio, diphtheria, measles, rubella, and tetanus, and provide tuberculosis clearance. Each student must present and maintain satisfactory evidence of an active medical insurance policy while in attendance.
